K&K Cafe
Clearbrook / Clearwater

There is clearly new energy here in Clearbrook and in other communities from Line 3 workers. It's making a real difference. After spending so much of this year finding ways to survive, seeing Line 3 happen and the workers show up means so much for my employees, our café, and our local businesses.
Itasca Economic Development Corporation
Grand Rapids / Itasca
The traffic has been just tremendous and has really helped our businesses in Hill City. I think you'll see Harry's, Knuckleheads, and these small sort of bar/restaurants have really seen an uptick. Roadside and Sunny's, these small convenience stores, have had a lot of business. They have adjusted their hours to be open earlier to support them.
Strand's Store
Leonard / Clearwater
Not only have I watched more customers come into my store, the other local businesses are now serving the construction workers and also seeing an increase in sales and traffic. Beyond the fact we have more customers, the construction workers have been embraced by local residents and we have truly enjoyed making new friends and getting to know our great visitors.

I think this is great for our motels to have Line 3 workers staying in our community.
Red River Ag Convenience Store
Plummer / Red Lake
It’s fantastic to see the dramatic change at our store and across our entire community. Last year we were looking at what we would need to do to survive what had been a very hard year. Now we are looking at how much more we can do to serve our new customers because our sales increase is fluctuating between 25% and 50%. This came at the right time for us and will help our bottom line long into the future.
Bemidji Woolen Mills
Bemidji / Beltrami
We are now seeing restaurants providing needed take-away meals for workers. Hotels are seeing rooms rented at the end of what has been a hard year. Other stores with customers buying everything from warm clothes, work boots and other things. This will not completely fill the economic hole created by COVID, but for many businesses, it will help them stay afloat, keep more people working, and energize our communities. Being able to create the thousands of construction jobs now is life changing for not only the workers, but for people and communities across Northern Minnesota who now have new customers and hope.
Michael's Meats
Thief River Falls / Pennington
The increase in sales is giving us an opportunity to invest in our business like buying new machinery, which otherwise we couldn’t afford. Enbridge means a great deal to the community and what the Line 3 Replacement Project promised to deliver is happening. We have always known this project was good for Minnesota and now we are seeing this first-hand.

I believe Enbridge and all the employees are a great thing for our community. They (Enbridge) provide jobs to a lot of local people. (Well paying jobs) The project/employees generate a lot of money into the local economy. As a small business owner I have personally felt the positive effect of Enbridge employees in my restaurant! Especially in the aftermath of COVID-19 restrictions our Governor continues to enforce. Enbridge is a huge positive to myself and our community.

Enbridge is vital and important to area.
Westside Motors
Thief River Falls / Pennington

The Line 3 Replacement Project has been a huge boost to our local economy. When the project started in December, many businesses had been hit hard economically by COVID-19 and the restrictions that were in place. With the construction crews moving into the area there has been a big economic uptick in the area and a renewed optimism in businesses and the people they employ. Enbridge has always been a “good neighbor”. The concern that they show for local governments, the people who live here and a variety of causes is much appreciated. Thank you, Enbridge and all the workers, for the great work you are doing and for having so many positive impacts on our area.

Shevlin / Clearwater

It is a real pleasure to work with the Northern Clearing Crew working on Enbridge Line 3 Replacement. Typically my cabins are full on the weekends for snowmobilers and winter enthusiasts but now I am at 100% every night and I even have turned my future Ice Cream Shop into a cabin for this construction period. These renters are TOP NOTCH and have been excellent tenants. If I could have my restaurant open to the public I know we would see an uptick in customers there too but with the Governor’s Shut Down we have actually closed the restaurant these past two weeks but look forward to opening up again when we get the GREEN LIGHT to do so. We look forward to being open again and serving the Pipeliners.

The business that Enbridge and the Line 3 project has brought in has been very helpful to our business this winter. It helped us through a very tough time in the food business as the COVID-19 shut-down made things very hard on the food service industry!

Northwest Outlet
Superior / Douglas

Enbridge has been a great neighbor of ours for many years. Their long track record of bringing jobs to the area has been a great benefit to us as we help outfit folks for working outside regardless of the elements. Line 3 is a great example of how Enbridge helps support the local economy. We are just one small business out of many who benefit from the tremendous workforce that Enbridge brings to the area. Restaurants, hotels, retailers and many more businesses are getting a much needed boost in business after the tumultuous spring, summer and fall that COVID-19 caused. In addition to the added business, it has been great just to chat with some of the folks who have stopped into the store. Some of the folks from the southern part of the country were quite surprised by the weather that we get here in the Northland, but there has been an overwhelming sentiment that this area is some of the most beautiful countryside that they've had the pleasure of working in. Overall, we believe that Line 3 is needed not only as a boost for the local economy, but also to protect the beauty of the area that we have the pleasure of calling home.

From a landlord's perspective, Enbridge employees have been very responsible renters, well mannered and respectful. This area has been hit hard and the pipeliners have gained us stability in our businesses through their business. Enbridge is easy to work with.
Pete's Place West
Wilton / Beltrami

"As hard as last year was to get through, what we are seeing now because of Line 3 is beyond remarkable,” said Bill Schroeder, owner of Pete’s Place West. “There are more customers here every day buying gas, supplies, and other things they need before and after they go to or from the construction site. Seeing things change so much for the better has helped us and energized our community. We cannot immediately replace what was lost last year but Line 3 is making a major difference and we just hope nothing happens now to stop the work."
Mayor of Aitkin
Aitkin / Aitkin
Our local, rural businesses have had a harder time recovering from the state-mandated shutdowns due to COVID-19. Line 3 construction immediately meant more people coming to our area, and that is boosting economic activity across the entire community. What is equally important is the fact the new economic activity from the project also means the county will have increased tax revenue which will help take the burden off local homeowners.
Ruthie's Restaurant
Hill City / Pennington
Line 3 is good for local business.
Plummer Fire Chief
Plummer / Red Lake
I know our convenience store is doing better; I know they've already expressed their views in favor of Line 3. Our local establishments, drinking and dining are doing better. Rental properties - there is little to no vacancy around here. Any room that's available is being rented, so it's been positive across all aspects of the community economically.

Harry's Food Truck
Hill City / Pennington
Last year was hard and an incredible challenge for our family and our business because of the pandemic and how it shut so many things down,” said Randy Ihle, Harry’s Bar Manager. “We counted on the construction of Line 3 to jumpstart our business in 2021. It has already done more than that. Line 3 and the people here to build it have helped us bring people back to work and given us a chance to grow our business by launching the food truck.

I own the Longville Inn in Longville, MN, and have had pipeliners renting from me for the last month and a half. The workers that stay here are very professional and well mannered. They have put a lot of money into Longville’s economy this past month. Longville is a very small town and basically a summer tourist town. This pipeliners have helped a lot in the dead winter months. The pipeline will be a very valuable asset to Minnesota and America.

LaundryLand
Thief River Falls / Pennington

We are Sandy and Mark and we purchased the LaundryLand in October of 2019. In March of 2020 COVID-19 hit the nation. We were concerned about what that would mean for us as new business owners. We are happy to see the Enbridge Line 3 Replacement Project workers in Thief River Falls. But we are tired too. On a normal weekend we processed approximately 10 drop-off laundry orders. The first weekend the workers were in town we, along with the few high school part-time employees we have, processed over 80 drop-off orders and a few weekends ago we processed close to 100 orders. We are thankful for the business the workers have brought and are enjoying getting to know the them and their families.
